Stubborn blood stains are the most frustrating problem!

Spots of blood either due to periods or bleeding of wounds maybe a common issue of every household. It can become a significant issue if immediate action is not taken and the blood can be deeply penetrated and will become hard to remove.

Moreover, the blood not only seems unpleasant but also will be unhealthy if not removed.

Things to be Considered before Removing the Blood

Check the Fabric

First, all determine the fabric of the sheet or cloth. You are removing the stains because every texture of the material is different, so you must be very careful while applying any product to damage cloth or sheet.

How Old the Stains are

The second most crucial aspect is either the stain is fresh or deeply penetrated in the garment because you can do some simple procedures for new ones while for old ones, you can go into some complicated methods.

Temperature of Water

Always take the cold water which can flush the stain because hot water can further penetrate it.

Here we will give you a detailed procedure of removing the bloodstains from the sheets and clothes in appropriate ways

Quick Ways

If the stain is fresh, use a paper towel to absorb as much stain as possible. But don’t rub it. Just blot it by the paper towel. Or if the water is available, apply it and then use soap or detergent to remove the marks

.

Home Solutions

First, you can give a try to home remedy as it is less expensive and will not burden your pocket. Secondly, these are also a safe solution as compare to commercial solutions.

Here are as following.

Salt

It is an essential ingredient that is available in every household. It can create wonders as it is a mild abrasive and will act against the stains.

Fill your bucket with the water, add a small amount of salt to mix the solution, place your sheet or cloth into it, and leave it for 3 hours. Then wash your sheet as a normal procedure.

Meat Tenderizer

It will look weird, but this will help you eliminate the old blood marks that you ignored and forget to remove. You can easily find it in your home or local store.

Sprinkle meat tenderizer on the spot by making it a paste with water and keep it for 30 minutes. after that rinse it

Toothpaste

The easiest trick on the stains as it can be easily accessible. It will also work if you are traveling, and any other ingredient is not available. You can put it directly on the spot and leave to dry after while washing it with the cold water.

Baking Soda/Corn Starch Paste

Baking soda works great on any type of odor and stain because it is a mild alkali and can eliminate, by dissolving it with the water, it is also non-toxic and will not damage the fabric of garment or sheet.

The application process takes a little amount of soda and mix it with the tablespoon of cold water and apply it. Similarly, you can also use corn starch because it has the same properties and can be used alternatively.

Cola

You don’t have an idea, but the black drink in the refrigerator will be as effective on the blood spots on cloth or sheet just like any other ingredient due to carbonate and phosphorus, which help break the stains residues.

The procedure is to place your clothing in cola for a few hours and then wash it with the normal process.

Aspirin

It will be a surprise to you apart, giving you relief from the pain and fever. It will also help eliminate the tough blood stain because the chemical compound present helps break down the residues,

Crush the tablets and make a powder form of it, then combine it with the water to form paste then apply it on the stains. leave if for 25 to 30 minutes after that wash your object

White Vinegar

Vinegar will sprinkle its magic on the blood sheet, and clothes just like it ponder its magic on other things. Soak your garment or cloth in the mixture of vinegar and water solution. The ratio of water and vinegar is 3:1.

After a while, take out your piece and scrub the stain by toothbrush and sprinkle a little salt to make the scrubbing process easy.

Ammonium

It will also be a fantastic ingredient not only on the bloodstains but also on the urine and sweat. Create a mixture by combing in the water and apply it with the cloth on the affected areas. But don’t forget to dilute it in the water.

Saliva

If nothing available, then apply your own spit. It may seem disgusting, but it will work. But we recommended this technique as a last resort if nothing is possible.

You can apply to those stains which can’t be removed by the other methods.

Homemade Paste

Sometimes one ingredient is not enough to eliminate the blood marks and needs two or more parts to make it useful.

Combination of Hydrogen Peroxide with Lemon Juice

Another excellent mixture which will be robust against bloodstain. the mixture of two ingredients helps break down the residues and help kill the bacteria’s and germs and work just like the bleach,

Make a solution of both elements and pour it on the clothes or sheet leave it for a while.

It will be suitable for your light color sheets and clothes but remain cautious about applying it on dark color because hydrogen peroxide tends to leave spots.

Alternatively, you can create a mixture of hydrogen peroxide with the dish soap, and the baking powder gently massages the paste against the stain to get off it.

Dish washing Soap Spray

Take 2/3 of dish soap, ammonium 6 tbsp. of baking soda in 2 cups of warm water. Baking soda and ammonium. These three act as an effective cleaner for breaking down the tough stains.

As ammonium and baking soda both act as a base, which will help break down the residue. Moreover, the dish detergent further helps to eliminate marks.

The making procedure is first to combine the baking soda and warm water stir it until it has fully dissolved after it adds dish soap and then ammonium.

Fill it in the spray bottle and shake it before applying. Pour it on the affected area, leave it for a few minutes if marks are stubborn, use a toothbrush to get it out.

Lemon and Salt Stain Remover

This trick works very well on the cloth, even on the sheet. But don’t apply it on the delicate clothing as it can damage it. Moreover, weather conditions should also be kept in mind, such as an adequate amount of sunshine available

First, soak your garment in the cold water, squeeze the water as much as you can. After that, place it in the plastic bag according to size. Pour some amount of lemon juice and salt inside it then sealed it. From the outside, rub the ingredient so it can settle down.

Leave it for a while carefully take out the garment and hang on the clothesline for drying, but if clothesline is not available, then lay it on the rack.

It is a fact that our body contains fatty acid and its correlatives but is it normal to consume it in the form of a “Soap”?

Sounds weird?! Right! But that is the sort of information we will be sharing with you all in this article.

Soap or complimentary products is a mean of cleansing and disinfecting the body of germs, externally. It is of extensive use in our daily lives, hence, it would be difficult for us to proceed with our activities without this commodity. But, using it in other ways or specifically for the purpose of eating is not only awkward by sound but by action as well. Although, some people are addicted to this habit on a routine basis.

You all must have seen or at least heard about some people who are fond of performing this activity. One might think if such people actually run out of food or how can a normal person find it yummy!

Well, these are common reactions of our society due to which such individuals avoid expressing their habits by the fear of being ridiculed.

Below, we have tried to state in detail about the love of people for Soaps!

Is it a Disorder?

We are not actually declaring you all as a Sick person but yes it actually is an aberrant characteristic which comes under this category. “Pica” is the name of this peculiar condition, in which a person is fond of ingesting nonnutritive substances. This practice usually continues for a month before it prolongs as a threatening disorder. It highly depends on the type of material the person is obsessed about, some might be toxic and lethal while others cause no harm to a human body.

Why do people have Pica?

We can call it an unfamiliar habit but scientifically there is a cause behind every abnormal proceeding of a living body. Although, no proper reason has been determined as yet researches report that it might be due to any nutritional deficiency. It can be the expression of our body about some crucial content that is absent from our diet and needs to be taken as well as stress and environmental conditions. Furthermore, social and cultural norms can also lead to such traditions which later become a part of the lifestyle for specific communities and gets carried by generations.

Clinical manifestations of this disorder?

Like every disease, this one has some medical manifestation as well which can be observed in the affected individual. The most common ones are of the digestive system, which gets damaged by the harmful constituents of soap and leads to constipation, ulceration and even intestinal obstructions. The pathway to our GIT ( Gastrointestinal tract) is the mouth where the teeth are also under threat of severe tooth abrasion, and surface tooth loss.

Complications that require attention

Not every disease is deadly but some conditions require our immediate concern or can even cost a life. In Pica, severe toxicity can have an adverse effect over the nervous, circulatory, endocrine, digestive, cardiovascular and renal systems. Mild constipation by soap intake can even lead to hazardous hemorrhage and ultimately death. Also, there can be zinc and iron deficiency syndrome, particularly in the children of growing ages.

Can eating soap cause death?

Pica is generally not always life-threatening one, although an uncontrolled Pica can become a lethal disease. It is directly dependent on the kind of substance being consumed, in this case which is a soap – fatty acids and salts. The ingredients of soap are usually non-toxic and thus do not cause poisoning directly, due to which we can say that eating it would not cause death immediately.

How can we diagnose it?

Scientists have also come up with solutions which are helpful in finding out about this disorder in a particular population. However, there is no sequential process of diagnosis but we can surely assess the consequences of this condition with the help of screening of blood lead concentrations. According to the researches that had been carried out, children aged 1-2 living in abodes built around 1950 are more susceptible to it. Also, the places in which such aged children are found to have elevated blood levels can be affected with this. In order to detect the ingested substances, radiography and endoscopy techniques are involved.

How can it be cured?

Mostly, children are the victim of this condition, it is least common in adults and adolescents. There is no proper cure discovered as yet for Pica, although there are ways to lessen down the symptoms or prevent the clinical manifestations from worsening. The most common treatment is via the medication, drugs can help to enhance dopaminergic functioning. For coping up with stress, psychological treatment is very useful which is highly recommended.

Also, awareness about a disease is as important as its cure, so we all must play our role in spreading knowledge of this.

Management and Prevention

As they say, “Prevention is better than cure”, there are a number of ways used to manage this problem particularly in kids. The basic step is to develop the sense of edible and non-edible things, a child must know about self-protection from early days. For this purpose, sensory reinforcement techniques can also be used. Professional help is always an option that must be considered, experts like Psychologist or Nutritionist should be concerned during early symptoms.

Conclusion

Only if we concentrate more on finding the root cause rather speculating it, we can create a healthier world. Although, this habit might not appear to be a serious one and one can not predict its severity either. But prolong ignorance can take it to stages of pure and urgent concern.

It is cool to be unique as long as the uniqueness does not start to cause you any harm. All those soap-lovers and non-soap-lovers out there should keep an eye on themselves as well as around. As a little attention from us can actually benefit a lot of people in this world!

Man, truly is an insensitive being, but could one be heartless enough to kill many animals just for the sake of attaining some external cleanliness? This question leaves many of us in awe of astonishment and here we are going to tell you about the usage of animal parts (fats) in the making of refreshing soaps.

We would not like to disappoint you but the fact is that animal fat, commonly known as tallow is the main ingredient in the formation process of our daily soaps. Around 75 to 85% constitution of soap is based on the Sodium tallowate or a product of animal fat.

This might have left you blaming yourself for the unintentional crime you had been committing. We would like to lessen that sense of guilt by making you realize that not all products practice this trend, however greater majority does. Also, these vegan soaps could help you to further a bit more to your animal friendliness goal. Below, we have provided you the answers to all those questions that might be popping around your mind now.

Ingredients of a Soap

The soap bars produced on a commercial basis have nearly the same composition except for the flavors and fragrances that may differ accordingly. But you will never find the correct composition mentioned over it. However, mainly the constituents include the following list:

Sodium tallowate

Sodium cocoate

Sodium palmate and similar ingredients

Tallow

Coconut oil

Palm kernel oil

Lye

What is Sodium Tallowate

Fatty tissues of sheep and cattle yield tallow, which is basically a fat product. Sodium tallowate is a salt of tallow, similar products are magnesium and potassium tallowate. Sodium tallowate functions as a surfactant or cleansing agent, viscosity increasing agent, emulsifying agent and for foam boosting purposes. All these compounds are an important part of the soap or its derivatives’ preparation process.

How is a Soap made

Soap is manufactured basically by the process of Saponification, in which glycerol along with the salts of sodium are produced with the help of caustic soda or commonly known as lye. The process of saponification involves basic environment for the hydrolysis of esters, the resulting products are alcohol and carboxylates (or salts of carboxylic acid).

It is a two-step process, which involves either vegetable fat or animal fat. Then the manufactured product is properly processed and packaged under specific conditions.

Is Animal Fat necessary for Soapmaking

Tallow or animal fat is totally not a necessary ingredient for the preparation of soap. The fat for greasing purpose can be obtained from any source just like vegetables. But utilizing animal fat is an easy and cheap option. For which the industries provide a reason that tallow has higher boiling point making the soap hard and long-lasting, however, this is purely for the purpose of advertisements while the reality is opposite in its all senses.

Shampoo bars, contains all the characteristic features of a natural shampoo usually have. It cleanses the hair naturally without effecting the ratio of natural oils present in your scalp.

With heaps of fleecy foam, it tenderly clean the hair and scalp while fixing hair problems like dry hair, rough hair, split ends, hair fall, dandruff, oily or greasy hair, dull hair, heat damaged hair, frizzy hair, color damaged hair and gray hair. Moreover, they are quite easy to use, just like the way you use soap bar. It is comparatively long-lasting than a normal bottled shampoo and cleanse your hair deeply in a natural manner.

Let us look in to some of the differences between a shamppo bar and other washing products available for similar purposes.

What is the difference between a shampoo bar and a body wash?

Many people ignore thinking that hair are also a one of the parts of body. Of course! It is but needs a great care. Shampoos and body wash/shower gel are two noteworthy classes of individual care purifying items. Shampoos are particularly made to clean and deal with hair, though body wash is a fluid cleanser that cleanse the body (other than your hair). Most business shampoos and body washes are made as creams or gels. They are emulsions or gels of water and cleansers based with some functional ingredients. Since the frame or surface of the two shampoos and body washes are creams or gels, numerous individuals may erroneously utilize one as the other. Despite the fact that there are some similar formulations in the two, but still they differ from each other in numerous ways.

The primary contrast is their objective. Hair is really an altered kind of skin. The primary contrast amongst hair and skin is that the skin is essentially a living organ that replaces its furthest layer consistently. Conversely, hair is fundamentally dead material got from a couple of live cells profound inside the skin surface.

Shampoo formulation

Hair care is considerably more muddled than the body care and will contrast as indicated by one’s hair type as indicated by the procedures connected to hair. Hair is a sign of human assorted variety. For instance, there are three essential ethnic hair gatherings: Caucasian, Asian and Black-Afro/Caribbean. Hair writes fluctuate from totally straight to tight wiry twists, and from fine and flyaway to coarse and bunched up, with generally contrasting personal conduct standards.

Body Wash

Body wash is a mixture made from functional ingredients like moisturizer/conditioner, pearlescent shades, colorants, aroma, and so on. It cleansing specialist for your skin that is used in the shower or bath. Body wash contains milder surfactant ingredients than shampoos. Notwithstanding being pH-accommodating to the skin (5– 6.5), most likewise contain delicate molding operators in the equation. Body wash needs legitimate detergency without degreasing skin. It typically has a rich froth, simple washing, insignificant skin disturbance and great biodegradability. All business body washes have satisfying aromas.

What is the difference between a shampoo bar and a regular bar of soap?

Soaps are principally made of brilliant fats, sodium salts and fundamental oils or fragrant substances. Now and again, the fat utilized in these perhaps of cheap quality to encourage large scale manufacturing. In soap bars, a bit of the unsaturated fats is supplanted with oils that are useful for the hair like castor oil, coconut oil or other basic oils.

Many individuals have attempted to try soap bars on their hair. Truly, they do clean your hair but can be brutal since they strip it of its regular oils, which in turn prompts weak hair that breaks off easily.

A large portion of the prominent shampoo bars are not mass created. By and large, they are carefully homemade in small batches and steadily supplanting the liquid shampoo on account of the comfort and their gentle purifying nature.

Shampoo Bars Are A Great Complete Body Bar!

Another advantage of Shampoo bars is that they can be used as an alternative when you don’t have a body wash or soap. They are quite foamy, which makes them awesome for outdoors, voyaging, business trips, and the rec center.

Can you use A Soap Bar on your Hair?

Some people, particularly those with dry hair, wash their hair with the soap since it adds more oil to their dry ends. Similarly, the ones with long hair wash their oilier scalp with the shampoo bars and their drier finishes with the soap. Whereas on the other hand, a few really utilize it as a conditioner! Especially, men, and ladies with short hair, frequently have considered using the bar soaps instead of shampooing regardless of what sort of hair they have.

Why Shampoo bars?

The adjustment of the sort and measure of natural oils and spreads is the essential contrast. Shampoo bars generally have more castor oil. The main oil containing ricinoleic unsaturated fat. It is an awesome component for hair that contains remarkable humectant, and makes comparatively more bubbly foam than the people usually like in shampoo bars.

Additionally they gives you an experience bunches of babassu and coconut oils, essential for hair care while making a delicate and purifying foam. Sometimes Jojoba oil (another natural oil for hair care) is also added as an essential component in them. It contributes in creating really a fluid wax that synthetically takes after the characteristic sebum delivered by the scalp. Jojoba, an oil and emollient, may help repair harmed hair shafts and shield from natural harm too.

Is it safe to use Shampoo bars to wash your face?

You can as long as your shampoo does not have excessively amount of aroma in it since it is troublesome on the off chance if your skin is quite touchy. However, why take risk when all of us know that face skin is really sensitive, so it is better to be delicate with it. So get a cleanser that suits your skin compose, and follow it up with a good moisturizing lotion.

Actually, shampoo contains certain ingredients that will dry out your skin and gets into eyes. Its main purpose is to clean your hair not your face. Besides, scalp has distinctive surface from your face skin (like some cleanser’s assistance hair development). So if you need hair all over your face then it is ideal. Otherwise, the scalp is drier than your face.

Have you ever been curious if soap really does kill bacteria whenever you use it? What about regular soap and antibacterial soap?

Indeed, soap kills bacteria by working on their cell wall. However, not all the bacteria cell walls are the same. So, soap can be effective on certain types of bacteria than other.

We will try to debunk some of the myths and misconceptions about soap and how it really works to clean every inch of your body.

If you would like to learn more, please do not hesitate to continue reading.

To answer this question fully, you must first understand the chemistry behind soap and how it really works to clear out any bacteria that might get caught on your skin after a hard day’s work. How does it do the cleaning? We will discuss it in detail in the following paragraphs.

The traditional soap is generally composed of SDS or Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate. This is a synthetic organic compound that is usually utilized by many cleaning agents and hygiene products. It has the chemical composition of CH3(CH2)11SO4 Na.

In high concentrations, it can greatly help get rid of gram-negative bacteria such as E. Coli while it is found to be quite ineffective against gram-positive bacteria. Below are some examples of these two types of bacteria as follows:

Gram-Negative Bacteria

Acetic Acid Bacteria

Salmonella

Shigella

Helicobacter

Pseudonomas

Gram-Positive Bacteria

Mycobacterium Tuberculosis

Streptococcus Pyogenes

StaphylococcusAureus

How Does Soap Kill the Bacteria?

It neutralizes the bacteria through destroying its cell wall. This being said, gram-negative bacteria have thinner cell walls than the positive ones, this is why the latter is more resistant to soap. Antibacterial medication and antibiotics can help get rid of the gram-positive bacteria more effectively.

The Main Difference between Antibacterial and Regular Soap

Regular soap serves to just wash off the daily dirt and grime from your body. It is not lethal to the microscopic organisms that might get into the body through the pores. On the other hand, antibacterial soaps have special components that could kill the bacteria and viruses.

To further comprehend the main difference between the two types of soaps, you really have to understand the innermost components of these cleaning agents.

Soap Molecules: Explaining the Science

Soap molecules generally have Amphipathic Polarities. This means that these specialized molecules have both polar and non-polar ends.

These particular polarities are unique because while normally, opposite ends attract. In this case, because of the amphipathic nature, soap molecules with similar polarities get pulled toward each other.

Because of this, the nonpolar ends of both regular and antibacterial soaps latch onto the dirt and other vessels of bacteria on account of their similar polarities. It is for this reason that dirt usually gets stuck to soaps.

It will then go into the water when washed and be swept away. The only difference is that with regular soaps, it only washes away the bacteria. This means that the organisms are still alive in the water.

Washing your hands with regular soap though has been proven to be an effective way to prevent diseases on a regular basis. If you simply want to get rid of dirt and mold, you can easily use regular soaps.

However, if you are infected and deal with a lot of the aforementioned gram-positive bacteria, it may be best for you to use antibacterial soaps.

In the next section, we will discuss how antibacterial soaps serves to clean and disinfect the body effectively to give protection from similar or much stronger bacterial strains.

Antibacterial Soaps: Are They Better?

This is an age old question that regular folk tend to ask especially if they are buying cleaning agents for hygiene maintenance. The answer to this question is yes. This is because antibacterial soaps usually have an antimicrobial ingredient called Triclosan.

This is a powerful chemical that serves to effectively block and protect the active site from bacterial enzymes that are needed to make fatty acids which can help microbes from dirt survive and infect the human host.

This being said, you would only need to apply a small amount of Triclosan to kill large amounts of bacteria. In addition to this, you wouldn’t need antibacterial soap to clean most household items. This is because basic strained pathogens can already be washed away by regular soap.

It is also important to remember that excessive use of antibacterial soaps could be even more dangerous to human health. This is because bacteria tend to develop resistance to the antimicrobial components of the soap if they encounter the cleaning agent regularly.

This is why it is advised to use antibacterial soap only when extremely necessary.

Benefits and Downsides

To further understand how we can use soap to help get rid of bacteria, we will now discuss some of the pros and cons of antibacterial soap usage. Here they are as follows:

Positives

Antibacterial cleaning agents and other similar products are better used in healthcare establishments such as hospitals or nursing homes. This is because most of the patients in these said locations usually have compromised immune systems.

This means that their environment needs to be extremely clean.

However, if you do not have regular access to either antimicrobial or regular soap, using a hand sanitizer with 60% alcohol levels should be a viable and effective alternative.

As for the home, if you have pets, it would be best to use similar cleaning products to maintain the house. These can also be used in pet stores and veterinary clinics.

Negatives

At present time, the Food and Drug Association does not have sufficient evidence that support the protective and healing properties of antimicrobial products as compared to regular soaps. This being said, they now require manufacturers to prove the viability of the chemicals for long-term use.

Also, they advise the public to just wash their hands regularly with normal soap and water mainly because excessive usage of antibacterial products could compromise the healthy bacteria present in the skin.

Losing good bacteria can decrease the efficacy of antibiotics against any new, infectious strains that might come along in the future.

Final Words

Knowing these bits of information about soaps can definitely give you confidence as to the efficacy of this particular cleaning agent.

Ultimately, using either antibacterial or regular soap to clean up is advisable, depending on the situation. However, you should not overdo it. Remember that everything done in excess is never good for the health.

Can you make dynamite out of soap? This is one question that could easily be answered by those knowledgeable in Science and Chemistry.

The simple answer is yes. You can make a dynamite from soap and its ingredients. This is true, especially for your school project.

However, if you want to understand the basics of how this can be done, it is important that you read the next few paragraphs right away.

Disclaimer and Advice: This article is just for information for experimentation. Must be done with all safety measures. You are responsible for your action. And finally, do not become a problem for other or even yourself.

Making Dynamite from Soap: How Will You Do It?

Did you ever know that you can easily make dynamite from soap? All you need to have is a little bit of understanding about Chemistry to be able to formulate an explosive substance that could blow everything up in just a few seconds.

However, you would need to remember a few steps to be able to do it properly. Fortunately, we will get to discuss these steps to take in the subsequent paragraphs for you to better understand the formulation behind dynamite and how it can be related to soap ingredients down the line.

Ingredients Needed

If you are going to try and make dynamite for a school project, here is what you’ll need.

Nitric Acid

Glycerine

Sawdust

Before going any further, let us first discuss some important points about the first two ingredients.

Nitric Acid: Composition and Makeup

Nitric Acid basically is a combination of three major chemical elements. Nitrogen, Oxygen and Hydrogen. Two of these three elements can be found in water already. On the other hand, severely high temperatures caused by major thunder storms can produce Nitrogen Dioxide that will in turn form the compounded element mentioned on the list above.

Fortunately, this particular type of acid easily dissolves into the atmosphere even before it reaches the earth. However, small amounts of this particular type of acid can also be found on the earth. This is why it can be use as one of the main components of dynamite.

Significant Reminders

It is extremely important to remember that you should not try to make your own pieces of dynamite without ample supervision. Otherwise, you might end up harming yourself and others in the process.

Do your homework first before beginning to create homemade dynamite. This way, you will not end up making severely dire mistakes down the line.

In the next paragraph, we will discuss more about Glycerine and what role it could play in the creation of a homemade dynamite. Just read on if you would like to learn more.

The Soap Composition: Learning the Importance of Glycerine

Now that we know more about Nitric Acid, Understanding more about the composition of soap is the next important step to take. Here are some additional details regarding the composition of soap and the significance of Glycerine in this whole process.

Soap is generally made from tallow which by definition refers to the white substance in soap composed of mainly animal fat. These white, pasty substances are also used in the manufacturing of candles or lubricants.

It is from the tallows that one can derive Glycerine. This chemical is one of the main components of dynamite. However, you would still need to let the tallows solidify to be able to scrape off pure Glycerine for the next stage of production.

Nitric Acid and Glycerine: A Lethal Combination

After extracting Glycerine from the soap tallows, you can then proceed and mix it up with Nitric Acid. This mixture would be then called Nitroglycerine. After this, you can add a bit of Nitrol and sawdust to effectively create and make the dynamite work.

The sawdust stabilizes the solution effectively. This way, it will not easily explode upon contact.

Safety Precautions

Now that you know how to make dynamite, handling it is an entirely different matter. This process is extremely dangerous especially for those inexperienced individuals. This is why it is important for anyone who is going to embark on this project to remember some important safety precautions.

Here are some of those safety tips as follows:

Wear Protective Gear

As with any experiments, you would have to wear protective gear to keep safe from the ill effects of the aforementioned chemicals on your skin. Although these chemicals are essentially safe by themselves, when mixed together, they can be extremely lethal.

Mix the Ingredients in Equal Measure

Combine the chemical solutions in equal parts. This means that you should measure the chemicals before combining them to make dynamite. Adding too little or too much of the ingredients may have dangerous effects down the line.

Ensure Proper Waste Disposal

To prevent possible effects of poisoning, you should be able to dispose of the residual chemicals properly after the experiment. Make it a point to ask your professor as to how you can dispose of the chemicals properly after the experiment.

Do The Experiment In An Isolated Location.

Make sure that you are able to do the experiment somewhere that is far away from unnecessary human contact. Being that you are dealing with potentially combustible mixtures, it would be best to get away from spectators to be safe.

Important Points to Remember

It is imperative that you are able to understand not only the basic composition and the steps in creating homemade dynamite, what is perhaps even more important is that you are able to understand the ramifications of creating homemade explosives.

This is not something that you do on a whim. You have to be psychologically prepared for something like this. If you feel like you can’t do it on your own, ask someone more knowledgeable to help you with this particular project.

Otherwise, as an amateur, it would be best not to try and do it on your own. The procedure would be much safer when done under supervision.

Final Words

These are just some of the basic bits of information that you need to learn about making dynamite out of an item that is usually used for maintaining personal hygiene.

It is important to reiterate that handling explosives substances such as dynamite is not something that you should take lightly. You have to make sure that you are able to take as many safety precautions as possible. This way, you will not only protect yourself effectively but also the people around you.

It is also imperative that to keep yourself informed. Do not underestimate the value of such simple things like soap. Oversight will not bode well especially if we’re talking about potentially explosive material.

Curious why soap does not foam much in well water?

Here is the short answer:

Soap does not foam much in well water, because well water can be hard water. And in hard water foam does not lather well.

For the long answer read on.

Before talking about foam and well water, it is good to understand what foam is. It is also good to know the components of good water and how they affect foam formation. Foam appearance does not necessarily mean that it has been triggered by human factors. Foam can appear naturally especially in lakes, rivers or even streams. When the physical characteristics of water are interfered with or altered due to organic materials being present, then foam can form.

This is how foam is formed; water and any other liquid possess a property called the surface tension and water molecules are always attracted to each other. The molecules attractions make the pulling of the foam substances at the surface. Substances like soap decrease the surface tension of water.in foam formation, there is always the presence of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic molecules in the soap.so, one end is always attracted to the water and another end is not making foam to form and rise on the top of the water.

Soap is made from fatty acids and the fatty acids have both the hydrophilic and the hydrophobic molecules. The hydrophobic is always the water repelling element in soap and the hydrophilic is the water-loving aspect of soap. To have foam, the hydrophilic end of the soap gets in contact with the fats or the grease that one is trying to remove from cloths hands or anything that needs cleaning. It then dissolves them. The hydrophilic also makes the water molecules soluble so that when you try to wash your clothes or hands, the dirt and soap are washed away.

Foam Formation in Water from the Well

Water from the well is categorized under hard water. Therefore, the first reason why less foam is formed in water from the well because water from the well is hard water. Hard water is water that has high mineral contents.it can be a permanent hardship or temporal hardship depending on the metal ion contents that are present in the water. The minerals that might be present in hard water include calcium and magnesium ions.

In the case of temporary water hardness, there is usually the presence of dissolved bicarbonate minerals .the dissolution of this bicarbonates yields calcium cations and magnesium cations and goes further to yield the carbonate anions and bicarbonate anions. The metal cations in the well make the water hard.

In permanent water hardness, the hardness of the water cannot be removed by boiling this is because the water contains calcium sulfate and magnesium sulfate that do not usually precipitate as the temperature increases.

With the well as a source of hard water, instead of foam or lather being produced, a white precipitate is produced instead. This is because the cations present in the water damage the surfactant nature of the soap to form a solid precipitate. This usually results in the small content of foam formation.

The heavy metallic elements, that is the calcium and the magnesium can react with soap molecules to form an insoluble precipitate. And since the soap molecules will have been removed from the solution, there will be no enough molecules left to form the foam. You will automatically notice that you have used hard water after noticing a ring around the container that you have been using in cleaning or in the bathtub.

To make water from the Well form lather or foam, it must undergo a process that might break the iron chains or break the hardness. We have ways by which water can be made soft again. Softening hard water is the process of removing the calcium ions and magnesium ions that might be present in the well water resulting in little foam formation or no foam at all.

The Methods That Can Be Used To Soften Hard Water Include

Boiling

Using an ion exchange filter

Lime softening

Distillation

Reverse osmosis

Since well water contains hard metal and minerals, it requires softening in order to produce lather or foam. The above methods can be the best solutions for foam formation.

Boiling

Boiling is a method of softening hard water by removing the calcium and magnesium ions that might be present in the water. It breaks up the ions leaving the water fresh and soft. Though boiling is a method of water softening, it can only be used in softening hard water that is not permanent.

Distillation

This is a method whereby water is heated until vaporization starts occurring. The vapor is collected and left to cool changing back to the normal liquid state. Usually, the end results are a collection of pure water that is soft and not hard anymore.

Reverse osmosis

In this method of water softening, the calcium and the magnesium ions are eliminated in the semi-permeable membrane where a certain pressure is applied.in this method, only the water molecules are allowed to pass through the semi-permeable membrane making the end product soft and clean.

Lime Softening

This is the process of water softening that entails adding lime to the hard water. Lime added to the hard water always breaks down the magnesium and calcium bonds present in the water making the water softer.

Using Of Ion Exchange Filter

This is the most common method of softening hard water.it simply entails exchanging the calcium ions and the magnesium ions present in the water with sodium ions.in this case, the calcium ions and magnesium ions charge will exchange with the charge of the sodium. This leaves the water soft.

Conclusion

water from the well is hard water. This means that, when one uses it for cleaning or washing, it will form a white precipitate instead of forming lather or foam. This is always due to the heavy calcium and magnesium ions that are present in the water. The element of hard water can make it difficult especially when you want to wash or clean.one can use too much soap and more energy to wash because hard water makes everything hard. If one is using well water, it is advisable to soften it first to avoid using too much soap and taking very long in cleaning.

No one in the world has been lucky enough not to get soap in eyes. The question is have you done the right things in such situations.

If the soap gets in to your eyes, the most important thing is to make sure you do not aggravate the problem by getting more soaps in to it. You should immediately try to dilute and take out as much as soap possible by rinsing.

It is a discomfort – agreed. If you are not using some baby shampoo products, it can be quite a burning and unpleasant feeling, which causes severe discomfort, pain, and misery. Also, if it is a minor after effect, you can try some eyewash to get more comfortable. If it is beyond that you need a doctor’s appointment or call poison control before that. However, don’t worry! It’s a common mistake or accident most of us have done and got over with it.

The most important thing is to know how to act once it happens. Everything could be summarized as take it easy and rinse a lot without causing more soap into the eyes.

You can get it out of your eyes with these simple, quick and easy steps:

Calm down

First of all! The shampoo in your eyes might give you a burning or stinging sensation. Due to which, we often panic. Staying calm will help you think quickly instead of doing something that worsens the situation even more. There are handful of options for calming down especially when you’re confined to your shower and cannot move elsewhere. For instance you can calm down by slowing down your breathing. Inhale and Exhale deeply, this will help you to quickly think of some idea about how to get rid of this situation. Do this at least three times.

You might also feel yourself in a peace where nothing hurts and you are not in danger. For example, try thinking yourself on some peaceful mountaintop. When the light breeze touching your face and the gentle warmth of the sun pouring down on your skin.

Don’t rub your eyes

This stinging pain that you experience when shampoo gets in your eyes is actually caused by the presence of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), a foaming agent in the shampoo. So rubbing the eyes might worsen the situation. Since you will only end up heighten the foaming process at work within your eye. By rubbing the shampoo will enter much deeper into your eyes causing quite the opposite of a desirable outcome when your aim is to remove it.

Lean over at the waist to avoid the shampoo to enter into your eyes

As you apply your shampoo on your head to clean your hair, slightly tilt your head back. Look towards the ceiling while washing your hair. This will make any suds and shampoo bubbles fall behind you, not down into your face. Never move your head forward or keep your head on an even level like looking forward because of course in this way the shampoo will enter your eyes. Continue holding it back unless you rinse the shampoo completely out.

Close your eyes

Close your eyes gently. This will gradually help you end the exposure to shampoo and ensure the problem does not intensify further. Open them only when you are ready to wipe the shampoo away.

With your eyes closed, remove the rest of the shampoo off from your head. By this, you will be able to avoid entering more shampoo in your eyes.

Flush your eyes with cool water

While standing under the shower, turn the knob towards the cooler temperature. Then open your eyes and turn your face up in order to make a direct contact towards the shower head so that your eyes receive the most application of water. Ensure that the water flows across both eyes by turning your head from side to side. Keep your eyes as wide open as possible so the water flows into them. Do this for at least 15-20 minutes.

Remember the shower should be gentle otherwise your eyes will get hurt. If it is not possible, then run the faucet on the tub and cup cool water with both your hands. Splash it in your eye repeatedly for several times and minutes.

Try to cry

After wiping the eye with water directly from the shower, most of the shampoo should be out. However, in case it isn’t, then try to cry in order to remove any remains left in your eyes. Your eyes might be filled with tears already as a naturally when the shampoo gets in your eyes. If not, then try bringing yourself to tears. It will remove the contaminants and clear your eyes of any shampoo remaining in a natural way.

When you force yourself to cry it will take long to do that, but when you think of something tragic like being a child alone and scared in the woods will help you bring the tears quickly to your eyes.

Get checked by a doctor right away if your eye continues to burn or sting

When some cool water will pour onto your eye it will flush the irritant out and your eye will surely be back to normal after a few minutes. However, if you experience some severe pain or blurriness in your vision then the situation is is acute, recurrent, or inspires worry. In that case contact a doctor immediately. It is a possibility that you might have an allergic reaction to a specific ingredient in the shampoo you used. Similarly symptoms like blood or pus coming out of or clotting on the eye after a contact with the shampoo should also be cause for concern, and be checked by a doctor without any delay.

Don’t rub your eyes immediately after shampooing.

When you lather shampoo into your hair, you usually use one or both hands to do so. So when you apply the shampoo with your hands, do not bring them to your eyes in case of rubbing. The reason is that your hands might have shampoo suds or residue left on them. Wash your hands with water first then do whatever you want to do with them.

Wear some protective gadget to shield your eyes

It may sound crazy. But if you are a kind of person who gets soap always in to you eyes, always wear goggles or some protective shield that at least covers your eyes in the shower. Because shampoo entering in your eyes causes a severe and acute irritation. You can purchase goggles used for aquatic environments from some local sports store or a plastic or silicone visor. Wearing them while shampooing, will help you to protect your eyes. You can remove them after you have finished removing all the shampoo out and wash your face properly to ensure complete cleanliness.

Conclusion – Wrapping it up!

If the soap gets in to your eyes by mistake, the natural instinct of rubbing your eyes may not be the best option. Rinsing it out of your eyes must be done as soon as possible. Hope this article help you know more detail and keep your eyes protected.

Many people do not believe that dishwashing without soap is actually possible.. Dish washing at homes is one of the most must thing to do. By this I mean, no one can survive without washing dishes. This is because it is hygienic and healthy if we keep our dishes clean.

You can use several natural and alternate chemicals available at home to wash dishes without soap. Wooden ashes to baking soda are the things to be considered.

It is true, you are used to do it in certain way. And this, it might be a bit difficult to wash dishes without soap and one might think that without soap, no dishes can be done at all. This is not entirely true because one can actually wash dishes without soap and the dishes will be sparkling clean. At least at one time or one moment in life, you might find

There are several ways to clean our dishes without using soap at all. Have you ever asked yourself what people were using to clean dishes before soap came around? Have you ever ask what your great-grandparents were using to clean dishes before the innovation of soap erupted? If you had no idea at all, this piece is meant for you. Before you wash your dishes without soap, it is advisable that you wash them with a lot of water first.

This is how rinsing your dishes should be done before the actual washing. Place your dishes under a tap or place them in a basin filled with water. For it to be more effective, you can use a sponge and maybe a scrubber that will help in removing large bits of food or food that stuck on the dishes. When there are little bits of food stuck on the plates, it is good when you get them wet. This usually makes the cleaning without soap easier and faster.

There are methods that one can use to clean dishes without soap. The methods can be so effective and helpful especially during the time that one has run out of soap.

Methods Of Cleaning Dishes Without Soap

Using the baking soda

Using wood ashes

Using the chlorine bleach

Sand

Using boiled water

Sand

You can use soap to clean your utensils and they will look bright and clean after washing. That is very true and a fact but have you ever thought of the amount of soap that you might be swallowing per day? It might be a lot of soap that you really don’t know. The soap might later affect your health because soap is usually made of chemicals.

This is what you need to do. Gather enough fine and clean and that will help you wash your dishes. After you have gathered your sand, you can collect water that you want to use during the washing. Use a sponge and water to rub off the bits of food that might be on your dishes. Pour water into the container with the sand. This might be hot water or cold water depending on your preference. Stir the water sand mixture till you get a paste. Use a sponge to scrub the sand mixture to your dishes .rinse the dishes with plenty of water to wipe off the sand. Make sure that all the sand is washed off leaving your dishes very clean.

Use Of Baking Soda

Apart from just baking, baking soda can be so helpful when it comes to cleaning of your dishes. The baking soda is what everyone needs for the dishes because it not only cleans the dishes but also removes any possible stains and helps in getting rid of the odor that might be present in your dishes.

This method of cleaning is also the most affordable one if not expensive.it is also a good method that will help you avoid swallowing chemicals emanating from the use of soap.

There are steps involved in the washing of dishes using baking soda:

First, add at least two spoons of baking soda to the water that you will use when dishwashing

Second, soak the dishes in the baking soda solution

Step three, use a sponge with dry baking soda to scrub the dishes making sure that they are scrubbed very well

Finally, rinse your dishes either by using running water or using basin water.

Using Wood Ashes

Using wood ash as a method of cleaning your dishes is the most affordable and efficient way to clean your dishes. Using wood ash will not only leave your dishes sparkling clean but also remove the grease that may have stick on your dishes.

In using of ash, only use ash that emanated from burning of wood and not from burning of garbage. This will help avoid attaching your dishes with bacteria that might, later on, make your health problems.

Take clean wood ash from your fire pit and mix it with water. Stir the two components to make a paste. You can either use hot water or cold water. Use a sponge or a scrubber to scrub your dishes with the ash paste and then rinse off your dishes till they are clean.

Use Of Chlorine Bleach

In using this method, wash off the excess bits of food on your plate using running water or water collected in a basin. Then, fill the washing bucket or basin with clean water .make sure that the water is cold to avoid blockage of chlorine from working. Add some amount of chlorine depending on the content of water that you have chosen. Soak the dishes into the solution for some time. Then using a sponge, scrub the dishes and rinse them in a cleaner solution then allow them to dry.

Boiled water

Using boiled water can also be an effective way of cleaning dishes. In this case, all the bacteria and any other dirt present in the dishes will die with a single soak. Boil water to a certain temperature and soak your dishes. Make sure that there are no dishes that will crack due to expansion. Then scrub your dishes using a sponge and rinse them to warm water. Mostly, the first rinse will not make the grease in your dishes go away that’s why we advise that the second rinse of warm water be used to make all the remaining grease go away.

Conclusion

Soap is not a must in dishwashing. One can use any other means to wash dishes that are even better, affordable and safe when it comes to health matters.
